When it comes to being creative, it helps to leave the civilized world behind and reattach oneself to nature. Observation of the world around you and how animals and birds interact gives a better understanding of how things are linked together. The human cities of concrete and steel tend to mute the fact that we, as different species, are all living on this planet together and rely on one another to share our habitat. Only by working together can we succeed.

That said, I find that it is easier to think and create when I am away from civilization. Peace, quiet, and fresh air allow me to design worlds and beings who can be interesting, and devise believable plots that play themselves out to a satisfactory conclusion. Anything is possible in my stories, but may not necessarily be easily achievable for the characters involved. There are numerous mysteries that occur in the background, and some of them may not be revealed until a future novel in the series. Every detail, no matter how small, has implications later on. Occasionally something can be mentioned that does not seem relevant at the time, but I urge you to read on because it will have a bearing on events later on in the novel.

You can leave your current cares behind and free your imagination by living in a new world for a while. Join Kazin and his companions as they face numerous dangers to stop an unknown threat from destroying their world. You won’t regret it.
